During the course of our various projects and activities, HID frequently gathers and uses personal information. Anyone from whom we collect such information should expect that it will be carefully protected and that any use of, or other dealing with, this information is subject to consent. HID’s privacy practices are designed to achieve this.
Defining personal information
Personal information is any information that can be used to distinguish, identify or contact a specific individual. This information can include a business contact information and certain publicly available information, such as names, addresses and telephone numbers as published in telephone directories, are not considered personal information.
Information in the public domain is not subject to privacy legislation and as such is not included in this policy.
Where HID customers and clients use their home contact information as business contact information, HID considers that the contact information provided is business contact information and is not therefore subject to protection as personal information.
We only disclose personal information in ways that we tell you about. We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties and we do not disclose personal information to third parties that are not owned by us, under our control or direction, or in a direct business relationship with us except as described in this Notice. We do share personal information (as share is defined under certain data protection laws) with third party advertisers such as Google. If you are a resident of California, you may have certain additional privacy rights.
HID observes the following practices when collecting, maintaining and using personal information:
Consent
An individual’s consent is required regarding the collection and proposed use of personal information when information is collected. Consent can be either express or implied and can be provided directly by the individual or by an authorized representative. Express consent can be given orally, via email or via filling a website form. Implied consent is consent that can reasonably be inferred from an individual’s action or inaction. An individual’s consent is required before confidential information is released to outside parties.
Cookies
HID’s websites use persistent cookies within visiting browsers to enable the functions of the website and for tracking performance. Specifically, cookies are used the following ways:
- Preserving and expiring visitor sessions on the site (e.g. preserving data between steps of a process; and ending the session after a period of inactivity)
- Enabling web analytic tools (such as Google Analytics)
GUARDRFID.com uses remarketing for its online advertising, with Google as a third-party provider. This allows GUARDRFID.com to improve the ads presented to its clientele, proposing services, tools and solutions based on users’ actual needs. Third-party social media
The use of social media by GUARDRFID.com is an extension of its Web presence. Social media accounts are public and not hosted on GUARDRFID servers. Google Analytics
Web analytics involves the collection, analysis, measurement and presentation of data on website traffic and on visits, for the purpose of understanding and optimizing Web use. The information collected by the cookies may be used by Web analytics to keep your interactions with GUARDRFID.com in memory.
This website uses Google Analytics to track performance. Google Analytics uses persistent cookies to track visitor sessions, visitors across multiple sessions, and referral sources to our sites. Limited Use, Disclosure and Retention
Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by law.
Data Security and Storage
We retain personal information as long as we are providing products and services to you, or as long as we are addressing any concerns, questions, complaints, or requests from you, depending on our interactions. If there is a contract or agreement, retention obligations will follow those terms.
Data may be retained longer if required by legal obligations, to maintain necessary records for legal, financial, compliance, or other reporting purposes, or to enforce our rights and agreements. Data may also be retained for statistical analysis or research purposes.
We implement security measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Additionally, we have measures to ensure the ongoing confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and services processing personal information, and to restore data availability and access promptly in case of an incident.
Security Safeguards
Personal information gathered by HID shall be kept in confidence. HID personnel shall be authorized to access personal information based only on their need to deal with the information for the reason(s) for which it was obtained. Appropriate physical and electronic measures shall be used to ensure personal information is secure. Access to donor and volunteer records shall be limited to those who require such information to fulfil their job responsibilities.
International Data Transfers
HID is headquartered in the United States and almost all data we process will be transferred to or accessed from the United States.
We may transfer, access, or store your personal information outside of the EEA, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, China, or any country requiring legal protections for international data transfer. When doing so, we will use one or more of the following approaches:
- Transferring to countries that have privacy laws recognized by the country from which the data are transferred as providing similar protections for the data (“adequacy”).
- Using written agreements like standard contractual clauses.
- Seeking your consent for specific transfers.
- Relying on other approved transfer mechanisms.
Your Rights

Access to your personal information about you. You have the right to request details about the personal data we hold and how it has been processed, as well as correct any inaccuracies.
Correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information about you;
Deletion of personal information about you;
