Zahir Abji – Founder, President and CEO
Zahir founded GuardRFID Solutions in November 2006, and incorporated it in March 2007. He has more than 28 years of experience in global operations management, product development and senior engineering management roles. Zahir was the President and Chief Operating Officer of eXI Wireless Systems and was responsible for its rapid growth between 1998 and 2002. Prior to that he was at Motorola for over 16 years in a variety of senior management positions including business development, product development for wireless data solutions, and management of R&D and manufacturing operations teams in Japan, Singapore and Israel. Before founding GuardRFID, he was the Vice President of Operations at Epic Data Inc., a developer of data collection systems for the Aerospace & Defense and Heavy Equipment industries. Zahir holds a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Bio-Medical Electronics from The University of Salford in the UK.
Tira (Ti) Sakata – Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Ti joins Guard RFID Solutions having spent the previous 17 years in technical sales and marketing spanning RF technology and mission-critical software systems. He brings experience in building and managing sales teams and sales processes at a national level and in business development for specialized enterprise-level systems. His responsibilities include developing and executing overall sales and marketing strategy, and helping industrial customers maximize the benefits of using GuardRFID’s high-performance RFID technology. Ti holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science Degree from Simon Fraser University in BC, Canada.
Beth Bandi – Vice President of Sales
Beth joined GuardRFID in January, 2008, bringing with her over 19 years of experience in healthcare sales, 10 of which have been in key leadership and management roles directly associated with providing healthcare active RFID enterprise solutions to Acute and Sub-Acute facilities. She was the Vice President of Sales for eXI Wireless Systems between 2000 and 2002. Beth has worked for several high-profile companies focused on providing instrumentation, software and security solutions to the healthcare marketplace, including Abbott Laboratories, Simplex/Grinnell and Ekahau. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio and a Six Sigma Greenbelt from Villanova University, Pennsylvania.
Dalibor Pokrajac – Vice President of Engineering
Dalibor joined GuardRFID in July, 2007. As the former Vice President of Engineering for eXI Wireless Systems, and later Verichip Corporation, he has over 8 years of experience in delivering active RFID technology solutions into the healthcare market. He has over 19 years of embedded systems, software, and hardware design and development experience, and has been active in relevant standards working groups. Dalibor holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Electronics from the University of Zagreb in Croatia.
Doug Stevens – Director of Customer Service
Doug has broad experience in customer and active rfid technical support. Having spent 15 years with Sensormatic Canada, he drove the concept of customer service as a core differentiator and sales tool. Doug spent 4 and half years with eXI Wireless in a similar position before moving to GuardRFID to continue his work in creating excellence with Customer Support. Doug holds a Diploma of Technology in electrical/electronics.
